Medical Appraisals

The team at The British Society of Aesthetic Examiners and Assessors are able to support medical practitioners with their appraisal needs.

We know that many practitioners undertake the majority of their clinical activities within the private aesthetics sector. As part of this they often need support through the appraisal and revalidation process.

Appraisal is a process to review the way healthcare practitioners work and the services they provide. Through an open and constructive discussion, it’s possible to review practice, reflect, and come up with ways to improve going forwards by agreeing achievable development plans.

The aim of an appraisals is to provide a report to the Responsible Officer of the medical practitioner’s Designated Body, from which recommendations to the GMC are made; this includes revalidation.

The educational faculty at the BSAEA consists of experienced Educational Supervisors and Appraisers who have knowledge around the appraisal process for revalidation. We can support most medical practitioners with:

  • Competitively priced annual practice appraisal services directly through the BSAEA or through selected third parties where appropriate.
  • Advice and support to help organise evidence towards an upcoming appraisal to represent aesthetic practice.
  • Links to appropriate organisations and designated bodies.
  • Professional development opportunities through the BSAEA learning portfolio and our supporting partners.
